Lakeland is privately owned and very much a family business ...

 

Shafana Shah is the licensee and together with her husband, Omar, is closely involved in the operation of the business.  Both can often be seen at the centre helping out! 

 

Lakeland signed the lease for the location in late 2020. After a few months of renovating and undergoing the licensing process, the centre was ready to accept enrolments in early 2021.

Shafana previously owned and operated Heartland Child Care in Fort Sask, Alberta. During years of managing that program, she built a strong reputation in the community as an accomplished educator who understands that a high quality staff is the fountainhead from which flow all the right ingredients for consistently high standard of care - plenty of outdoor time, active supervision, delivery of an educational and fun program, and an enthusiastic, collaborative approach with parents. 

 

The management is proud of the Lakeland team and is committed to maintaining a work environment that's inclusive and fosters a spirit of mutual respect and cooperation.
